Shaul was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, to a traditional, non-observant Jewish family. He is now a husband, father, Orthodox Rabbi, software professional, fitness enthusiast, and he writes for fun in his spare time, of which he has none. 

Shaul is married to Andy, and they live in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Israel, with their five children.
